The 3rd Annual Teacher Forum On October 24th, 2015
Teacher Forum is conducted every academic year and it is a part of Professional Development Workshop. The Teacher Forum is created based upon the notion that English Language Teaching (ELT) is a rapidly evolving field. Due to such an interesting nature, the English Program is confronted with a demand to constantly develop its teachers to meet the changing nature of the field. The Forum therefore aims at providing a venue for the exchange of ideas and dissemination of information on good practices within ELT. It also serves to strengthen and broaden the relationships among the teachers of English in WEG.
This forum is conducted by Education Department and associated by the Westline Schools and the Northline School. Staff and Teachers who are working in English Kindergarten & Young Learner Program and Adult English Program are the participants of this workshop/forum. Teachers of English of Khmer Academic Program are also encouraged to apply for the presenters and to enroll as participants.
After participating in this forum, participants will:
- Gain better experience in teaching, which increases the classroom participation and interaction in daily classroom.
- Expose to different teaching techniques/approaches from diverse experienced teachers.
- Increase their responsibilities in their daily teaching and performance.
- Obtain more creative idea in making their classroom even more dynamic.
Vice Principals of EKP/YL and AEP, Assistant to Vice Principals, Academic Coordinators, Teachers and teacher assistants from programs concerned are encouraged to apply to be presenters in one of the streams of interest:
- Teaching English in the 21st Centaury
- Classroom management and Student Motivation
The presentation lasts 30 minutes, which is divided into two stages. Presentation lasts 20 minutes and 10 minutes for questions and discussion.
This forum will be conducted in the Westline School, Daun Penh branch. The opening and closing ceremonies and plenary sessions will be held in the conference hall at the fourth floor and the parallel sessions will be conducted in classrooms at the third floor.
The forum is scheduled for all day from 8:00 to 12:00 in the morning. After one-hour lunch break, the afternoon session starts at 13:00 to 17:00.
