Cambodia Parent Conference: “Children’s Life skills for the 21st Century” – April 29, 2017
7 Habits books were first published in 1989. This program is written by Dr. Stephen R. Covey who discovered the 7 Habits that would improve oneself and get success in both personal and professional life. This program has been embedded in many school curriculums in many countries around the world including Cambodia.
In the WEG Education Conference titled “Why Education Matters?”, Mr. Pech Bolene, CEO of Westline Education Group, said:
“We have cooperated with Franklin Covey Education and brought the 7 Habits embedded in school curriculum, called “The Leader in Me”, to Cambodia to highlight an education full of creativity, so that Cambodian youth can gain both theoretical and practical knowledge. 7 Habits can also provide, to the students as well as their parents, new experience that they can apply in their daily life.”
“Cambodia does need soft skill training in order to respond to the overall globalization especially ASEAN integration. We brought the 7 Habit course to our fellow Cambodian people by inviting oversea experts to share in the interest of enhancing our youth’s as well as our parents’ soft skills.” Added Mr. Pech Bolene.
Mr. Pech Bolene had also highlighted the important elements of the 7 Habits program, which are about improving one’s abilities to drive his/her life positively and on his/her own.
The 7 elements in the 7 Habits are:
- Be proactive
- Begin with the end in mind
- Put first things first
- Think win-win
- Seek first to understand then to be understood
